Fin Whale Beach House offers stylish simplicity – a splendid family friendly beach house, newly renovated and furnished with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Simply kick off your shoes and step from the deck onto the white sands of Long Beach whilst enjoying spectacular sea and mountain views. Located in the upmarket Klein Slangkop Security Estate, the house has a relaxed holiday ambiance for all seasons. Snuggle up next to the fireplace in winter or explore the surrounding area in summer. An ideal spot for long walks on the beach.
The indoor outdoor flow allows for many wonderful entertainment opportunities and the private spaces offer everyone a place to relax and rejuvenate. After a long day on the beach watch spectacular sunsets with a glass of cold wine or a gin & tonic, or settle around the pool in a hammock with a good book and enjoy the moment.
Kommetjie is situated on the south west edge of South Africa. It is near the base of Chapman’s Peak Drive and Long Beach Mall is nearby. Kommetjie Village is away from the hustle and bustle of Cape Town and offers an array of restaurants, coffee shops, delis and pubs.
Our Rooms
Fin Whale Beach House encompasses comfort, relaxation and a beautiful blend of light beach colours and wood.
Our 4 en-suite bedrooms, some with whitewashed floors, are decorated in typical nautical style with comfortable beds and luxury linen. All rooms have fans, luxury fluffy blankets, white percale linen, electric blankets and a feeling of luxurious comfort.
Facilities
The spacious open-plan living areas are tastefully decorated and include a lounge with flat screen TV and a beautiful wood-burning fireplace. The dining area has a table that seats 8 comfortably next to the open plan kitchen leading to a sun room with comfortable sofas. Expansive glass sliding doors overlooking the salt water pool and bar area bring the outdoors in. The flow allows for many wonderful entertainment opportunities and the private spaces offer everyone a place to relax and rejuvenate.
Choose to cook outdoors on an open flame or kettle braai, or use a large gas/electric stove in the modern kitchen whilst gazing out across the beach and listening to the sound of the waves. The laundry has a large washing machine and tumble drier for guests to use.
Sun loungers, beach towels and a large cantilever umbrella ensure a carefree holiday. An outdoor shower allows you to rinse off the sand before stepping inside.
Cooking
Cooking becomes a family affair allowing you the freedom to prepare your own meals in your own time. The house is serviced as required, allowing you to make the most of this special location.
You will be spoilt for choice when deciding to eat in the open dining room, at the casual table in the sun room or al fresco at the bar. The dining and seating areas suit all weather conditions.
The kitchen is well-equipped with a walk-in pantry and top-end appliances including a dishwasher, microwave and double door fridge.
Ground Floor
This bedroom on the lower level offers luxury accommodation with twin beds and an en-suite bathroom and large shower. The bed is dressed in the very best cotton percale linen and offers a selection of thick luxurious towels in the bathroom.
The Yellow Room offers a comfortable option for single guests or children.
Ground Floor
This light and airy room, off the living area, is ideal for teenagers or older guests.
A very comfortable double bed with luxury linen leads to the en-suite bathroom. The bed is dressed in the very best cotton percale linen and offers a selection of thick luxurious towels in the bathroom.
Second Floor and SeaFacing
This luxury room offers a lovely queen size bed with beautiful views across the ocean through large windows.
White washed flooring and navy nautical accents compliment the view of ships on the horizon. Beautiful French doors open up to allow the sea breeze to flow through on a warm balmy evening.
The bed is comfortable with plush percale linen and a large private bathroom with an oversized shower and fluffy, thick towels. A well-appointed bookcase offers bookworms a variety of novels to exchange.
Second Floor and Sea-Facing
This beautiful spacious sea facing room located on the upper level has a large king-size bed and ample built in cupboards. Two comfortable chairs placed in front of a door, opening onto a small balcony overlooking the sea, provides a nice place to curl up and enjoy the view of the white sandy beach and Chapman’s Peak. A luxurious en-suite bathroom has a spacious walk in shower, an oval bath and a twin vanity unit offering plenty of space for toiletries.
The bed is dressed in the very best cotton percale linen and offers a selection of thick luxurious towels in the bathroom. Soft furnishings and lovely rugs underfoot complete the ambiance of the grey room.

Lovely home, steps from the beach. Great views of the sea from the top floor. Plenty of space and room for a group to stay - sleeps 8. The indoor/outdoor space is great for sunny mornings, and the fireplace indoors helped warm up chilly nights. The pool (a bit cold to swim in the fall) takes up the yard, but a green space just beyond the back gate provides a lawn area for kids to play. House has sand toys and beach towels for guests to use. Coffee and tea provided. Grocery is less than 10 minutes away, suggest having a car if you stay here.

Please ensure that you have the necessary documents with you on arrival. All guests will be required to sign an indemnity form on arrival.
Bank charges will be levied on cash deposit payments & foreign transfers.
No pets are allowed.
All guests will be required to settle their accounts for extras, laundry, etc. on departure. This can be done by EFT or local currency notes.
We recommend that all guests have a comprehensive travel insurance to cover injury, medical costs, cancellation and loss or damage to personal belongings.

Check-out is by 10:00 on the day of departure.
Cancellation Policy
- 90 – 61 Days prior to arrival 25% cancellation fee of the value of the booking.
- 60 – 31 Days prior to arrival 50% cancellation fee of the value of the booking.
- 30 – 0 days prior to arrival 100% cancellation fee on the value of the booking.
